Hello everyone, and welcome to another exciting day here at Walt Disney World! It started out pretty chilly, but warmed up quickly, making for a pleasant park day. We started our day at Disney Springs to try a new special treat, and then headed to EPCOT to check in on all the ongoing construction projects there. Let’s get started!
We started off our day by “rope dropping” World of Disney to find all the latest and greatest merchandise releases, and we were not disappointed! This new mug released just in time for Valentine’s Day features Mickey and Minnie affectionately touching noses surrounded by hearts. Even the handle makes a heart with a special cut out on the mug itself! This mug retails for $14.99.
Next, we found this Limited Release Annual Passholder exclusive pin celebrating the Chinese New Year for $15.99.
In the phone case section, we found this unique phone case made to look like a scream canister from “Monsters, Inc”. It’s available for iPhone XS and XS Max and retails for $29.99.
Certainly the strangest find of the day were these plush backpacks. There were four characters, all with zippers in their backs and straps attached to their fronts, allowing for things to stowed inside of them to be carried.
With four characters to choose from, there’s something for everyone. These backpacks retail for $34.99.
We found a new Limited Edition pin at Pin Traders celebrating 2021 at Disney Cruise Line, which retails for $17.99.
We were excited to be the first to try the new WandaVision Petite Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie. We love the look of this intricate cake! For more pictures and our full review, check out our article here.
On our way out, we were surprised to see significant progress had been made overnight at the M&M’s building with the addition of this large red sign in the shape of the classic candy. For more pictures, check out our article here.
Next, we headed to EPCOT, where we got right into checking on construction projects around the park. We first took a look at these supports that have been covered in scrim fabric, which will eventually hold the “Leave A Legacy” displays. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Next, we headed inside the park and took a look at the progress in the Innoventions East building, where Mouse Gear will be in the future. A significant amount of progress was made overnight as drywall was completed along the top of this wall and windows were added, all since yesterday.
Checking in on the France Pavilion expansion, which is still blocked by planters and closed to guests, we found someone working very close to the edge of the blocked off area.
We were amazed to see that she appeared to be painting the grooves in the cement to give it depth and weathering.
It has now been ten days since Donald went missing from Gran Fiesta Tour, but he still has not returned.
The “down” escalator in The Land Pavilion was working again today, allowing for traffic to flow more freely here.
Yesterday was reported that Lotus Blossom Cafe was closed, and that we noticed that the chairs had been stacked and stored in the corner of the seating area as if for a lengthy closure. Imagine our surprise when we found them open today! It seems they are open on weekends right now, which includes Friday’s as well.
The Chicken and Mushroom Pasty has returned to the menu at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom Pavilion, giving guests another option other than Fish and Chips here.
The chalk artists on the bridge to World Showcase are always creating new works of art, but it’s especially exciting watching this artist in particular, who creates pieces which utilize forced perspective. We also noticed that he was painting it using a type of watercolor chalk rather than drawing it using the traditional dry stick chalk. We could have watched him work all day!
We found an interesting piece of merchandise today at Mouse Gear—these new character sherpa fleece blankets. They can be used in a myriad of different ways, their tag even gives examples of how they can be used.
These blankets can be found at Mouse Gear for $39.99 each.
We had a great day at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
Can’t WAIT to get back to WDW……the mask thing, well, not a fan, of course, gut we will go anyway!
Oops, used the word gut instead of but…my bad, sorry!
