We reported that new construction walls have been erected near Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. On our trip to the park yesterday, we noticed that there is new signage directing guests to Test Track, Mission: Space, the EPCOT Experience, and MouseGear on the walls. Those who have visited the park in recent months will be very familiar with these construction walls and their accompanying detours as the massive transformation of EPCOT is well underway.
Waves of pavement work have recently been completed in the area around Spaceship Earth to enhance the new entrance to the park. These enhancements will welcome guests to future areas such as World Discovery, World Celebration, and World Nature “neighborhoods”.
On this side of the walls, more added directions can be seen pointing towards The Seas with Nemo and Friends, The Land, Soarin’ Around the World, and more. Guests visiting EPCOT will find that directional signage is pretty common at the theme park, thanks to the ongoing construction.
Where directional signage is not needed, colorful decals accentuate the construction walls.
A massive refurbishment of Spaceship Earth was previously planned but has since been shelved indefinitely. It seems as though that it was decided to enhance the surrounding areas in the meantime.
