After preparation and priming began earlier this month, repainting has finally begun at the Walt Disney World entrance archway on EPCOT/World Center Drive. The entrance archways across the resort are undergoing a makeover for the upcoming 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. The EPCOT/World Center Drive entrance archway is the last to receive the makeover, with work on the other entrances complete.
From a distance, we can see that only the right side of the arch has been primed. The center and left sections are currently untouched. This follows the same process we’ve seen with the arches that have been completed so far.
Painting of the “Welcome to Walt Disney World Resort” sign has begun. The deep blue is being applied by a lone crew member around the sign’s lettering.
Another crew member is in the process of covering Minnie Mouse with plastic to protect her during the process.

The 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort takes place on October 1st, 2021, and the celebration will continue for 18 months.
