Royal Greetings from Magic Kingdom! Today, the plan to beat the heat was to take our time getting in all the new sights as to not work up a sweat.
Before heading on to the park, we took the usual trip on the Express Monorail, where we noticed a new paint job started on the Resort line that was not quite finished but well on its way to a beautiful new look!
Once inside the park, we eagerly made our way down Main Street U.S.A. to check the status of Casey’s Corner, only to find it still shuttered. Fear not! The official reopening date was announced later in the day.
We then made our way to our favorite rope drop attraction at the moment, Jungle Cruise, but with no new additions for today. We are in de-nile over how much we love this boat ride.
Making our way out of Adventureland, we noticed more changes to the pathways in front of Splash Mountain and also in Liberty Square.
We then hopped aboard our favorite mine train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, to check out the return of the interactive queue.
Much to our dismay, and although uncovered, none of it worked just yet.
Making a final lap around before heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we were happily surprised to see the camel at The Magic Carpets of Aladdin spitting on guests again!
If you have not already, we highly recommend you take a moment to watch this happen to unsuspecting passersby.
Waving goodbye to many of our favorite characters, we made our way out of Magic Kingdom and on to the next stop – Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
The Tree of Life is one of our favorite sights!
We were hoping to be able to stop at a newly reopened Eight Spoon Cafe for a trilo-bite of baked macaroni & cheese, but we just missed it! You can read more about the reopening and hours here.
Jambo, Donald and Launchpad!
Craving something sweet to finish the day off, we made our way to Restaurantosaurus for the new Pineapple Upside-Down Shake. Read our review of this sweet treat to beat the heat here.
Before heading out, we noticed another star treat, the Star-Spangled Sundae at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck!
We could not say no to this deliciously sweet treat right before the 4th of July!
Thanks for following along as we spent a quiet day in Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Will you be trying the Pineapple Upside Down Shake or eagerly awaiting the (actual) return of the Big Thunder Mountain interactive queue? Let us know in the comments below!
