Welcome to the latest Halloween Horror Nights update from Universal Orlando Resort! It’s spooky season, so we’ve been spending late nights around Universal Studios Florida, taking in all the scare zones and houses. After taking a private R.I.P. Tour and visiting every house (most of them twice!) on opening night, we are ready to dive back in and enjoy some of our favorite houses and scare zones. Let’s get going!
It’s a busy Friday night, but wait times for the houses are all around an hour. We prefer to enjoy some scare zones and wait for the lines to get shorter at the end of the night.
Midnight Syndicate is re-releasing the “Music of Halloween Horror Nights” vinyl album on September 14. You can read more about the release, and other signings, in our post here.
The seasonal waffle has been removed from the menu at Hollywood or Bust, but the “Secret Life of Pets” pops from Universal Studios Hollywood have arrived here. You can read our review of some of these delicious frozen treats in our post here. If you’re craving a seasonal dessert, Central Park Crepes still has their Raspberry and Passion Fruit Crepe, but we hope to see a new offering for Fall soon.
Lines for food were shorter later in the evening. There’s a lot of great food to try!
We stopped into the “Haunting of Hill House” themed food tent, serving up Nell’s Tea Party Sandwiches. Read our full review of this menu here. We decided to grab the Jalapeño Popper one this time!
Halloween Nightmare Fuel is a must-see show if you’re going to the event this year. Guests are lining up early, but it’s worth it. Check out photos and video of this new show in our post here.
Bar tents closed promptly at 1 a.m., and food booths would start to follow. Don’t wait until the last minute to grab a drink or snack!
Around midnight, we noticed wait times started to drop for houses.
Puppet Theatre: Captive Audience was only a 10 minute wait, so I entered the queue and found almost nobody else in line. There was nobody behind me, which made it even creepier. I tried my best to keep up with the people in front of me.
Scare zones are pretty dead towards the end of the night, too. It’s almost scarier walking through the fog alone after dark.
That’s all for this late-night visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Be sure to keep following WDWNT and Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates from all the Universal parks around the globe!
We are going on the last Thursday in September. Think crowds will be lower? We’ll check out one or two houses, a few scare zones, eat, and go on the rides mostly.
