Last month, major excavation began for the Journey of Water walkthrough attraction inspired by “Moana,” coming soon to EPCOT. Let’s take a look at how construction has progressed in the last few weeks.
Journey of Water will be in the World Nature neighborhood, across from Creations Shop.
There are now large piles of dirt next to deep trenches in the construction site.
Structures surrounded by wooden framework are in the trenches.
We could see many crew members working on the site today.
There’s also a new above-ground structure (below the Christmas tree in the picture above).
The trenches are surrounded by orange nets and barriers.
The attraction promises impressive, interactive water features.
It is expected to open in 2022, although an opening date has not been announced and many construction projects were delayed due to COVID-19.

It sounds like the entrance of Animal Kingdom. I hope it is shady. That area of EPCOT can get really hot.
Cannot wait for this!!!
… not.
