Power Limes have debuted at Creations Shop in EPCOT, as well as at EngineEARS Souvenirs in Disneyland.
Power Limes- $2.99
Power Limes are a sour lime taffy aptly named for the popular animated pop star Powerline in 1995’s “A Goofy Movie.” They first debuted as a fictional candy prop in the queue for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway over in Disneyland. As pictured below, you can see them alongside Golly Pops, a treat that also debuted earlier this week.
They were then “brought to life,” and we found them at EngineEARS Souvenirs at the gift shop for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in the newly reimagined Toontown.
“A Goofy Movie” is one of the most beloved animated movies of the 1990s, so it’s no surprise that everyone is making their way over to grab their own Power Limes.
Guests of Walt Disney World can now grab their own Power Limes candy at Creations Shop in EPCOT for $2.99. The wrapper for the candy serves up lots of 90s nostalgia and features bright, neon colors and Powerline himself hugging a lime. The candy itself is a long, unmarked piece of green taffy.
Now that Power Limes have made their way over here from Disneyland, we hope that the other treats that debuted at Toontown will soon follow.
Powerline
At the beginning of “A Goofy Movie,” Max dresses up as his idol Powerline to impress his love interest, Roxanne. He is then caught by the Principal in mid-performance and gets into trouble. Fearing that Max is headed down the wrong path, Goofy takes him on a cross-country father/son fishing trip.
Max caught Roxanne’s attention and asked her to be his date to the Powerline concert viewing party. After his plans are foiled due to the unexpected father/son fishing trip, Max is forced to cancel his date with Roxanne. He then fabricates an entire story of how his father, Goofy, is good friends with Powerline and that they are attending the concert in Los Angeles in person.
(Spoiler alert!) Max reroutes the father/son fishing trip, much to Goofy’s dismay, and they actually end up on stage with Powerline. Goofy even teaches Powerline a few new dance moves.
This movie has become a beloved classic over the years to the point where Max is making appearances in the parks dressed as Powerline. He first debuted at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2022.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of this rare character encounter, Max dressed as Powerline is now doing meet and greets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He makes appearances throughout the day on Grand Avenue, right near the main entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
