The Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire VR attraction coming to Disney Springs this holiday season is under construction now, taking over what was the Star Wars room of the Once Upon a Toy store at Disney Springs.

From inside of Once Upon a Toy, a black curtain blocks guests from the new area under construction.

  1. Disney has been making some strange decisions lately. Closing and tearing down DisneyQuest at the same time building a VR Star Wars attraction on the other side of Disney Springs? Why not put the Star Wars attraction in the old One Man’s Dream area and put the Walt Disney Presents future attraction previews and models in Disney Springs? Other odd choices are:
Removing Toontown from MK: Replacing Great Movie Ride with Mickey Minnie Cartoon ride
Renovating DCA to a nostalgic era: Re theming Paradise Pier it again with Pixar and Tower of Terror with Guardians
Removing Streets of America and NY Street and create Muppets Courtyard: re theme it again to another street again but with a LA theme
Building fantasy and sci-fi fi attractions in Epcot Future World and World Showcase
Expanding Animal Kingdom to include sci-fi alien species that live on fictitious planets?
It seems as though they aren’t thinking long-term strategically which is disappointing.
