Tower of Terror Refurbishment

Refurbishment began in the ride’s exterior queue in early May. Later that month, flags came down from the gift shop exit and scrim covered some facade details. Nearly two months later, the scrim remains and guests can now see scaffolding above the gift shop.

The scaffolding is on the right side of the building, near the back of the facade. At least for now, it doesn’t obstruct any guest walkways. The ride and gift shop remain open.

Disney filed a permit for construction at the Tower of Terror, contracting MLC Theming. They may be touching up the exterior with new paint and refreshed details.

Though the scaffolding is visible from in front of the famous Tower of Terror building, it’s mostly blocked by trees and won’t ruin any photos.

Meanwhile, there’s a set of stanchions in one of the archways outside the gift shop, blocking some minor damage on the tile floor.

This damage will hopefully be fixed up quickly.
