On May 25th, the new Cast Services building will open backstage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, providing the new entry point for cast members working at the park. The new building includes costuming, a self-service computer room, lockers, a break room, ATM, and restrooms with showers. As well, new parking spaces southwest of the Television Lot will provide easy access for cast members to the new building. This is where cast members will be asked to park moving forward.
All of this work is part of the ongoing expansion of the park (and its parking lot) as it prepares for the opening of Toy Story Land on June 30th and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (as well as Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway) in 2019. Most of the parking lot has been reconfigured and has added additional parking spaces. A new roadway entrance to the park will also open in the coming months. The addition of the Disney Skyliner is also an attempt to alleviate car traffic to and from the park, allowing guests staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Riviera Resort, Art of Animation, and Pop Century to ride a suspended gondola to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
