In 2019, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will celebrate its 10th anniversary and to celebrate they are adding additional flair to some of their most popular events, as well as introducing new events throughout the year.

For the past few years, D23 Members have been able to visit Walt Disney’s birth home in Chicago. In June 2019, D23 Members will have the opportunity to revisit this historic site and see the progress that has been made during the recent movement to restore and preserve the home that was originally built by Walt’s father, Elias Disney.

D23 will be hosting screenings of movies that are also celebrating anniversaries in 2019 on the Walt Disney Studios Lot and at Walt Disney World Resort. These movies include Pixar’s Up (10th anniversary), Sleeping Beauty (60th anniversary), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (35th anniversary), and The Lion King (25th anniversary).

The official Walt Disney Studios tour that is exclusive to D23 Gold Members will return in 2019 and will begin to run monthly starting in March. Select tours will offer VIP experiences, although details on what these offerings entail have yet to be announced. During the tour, guests will be able to peek inside the Walt Disney Archives and see Walt’s office suite.

D23 will bring back the Lunch with a Disney Legend event, where fans have the opportunity to meet with various Disney Legends and hear fascinating stories. To kick things up a notch for D23’s 10th anniversary, these events will be crossing the country in 2019, starting with a lunch with Linda Larkin (voice of Jasmine from Aladdin), which will take place in New York City next April.

Speaking of New York, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2019 and D23 will be hosting a special screening of the movie in New York for this occasion.

All throughout this year D23 and Walt Disney Studios have offered fans opportunities to attend advanced screenings of upcoming Disney movies. In 2019, D23 Gold Members across the United States will once again have a chance of being randomly selected to screen one of 2019’s hottest movies. To celebrate 10 years of D23, 10,000 pairs of tickets will be sent throughout 2019 to D23 Gold Members. Maybe you could be among the first few to see the highly anticipated sequel to Disney’s Frozen.

There are a multitude of additional events taking place for the 10th anniversary of D23 including the return of Sip & Stroll at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival in 2019. Mickey’s of Glendale, the exclusive Imagineering merchandise store, will once again open to D23 Members. Walt Disney World guests and D23 Members on the West Coast will have the chance to attend Light Up the Season at The Walt Disney Studios in December to celebrate the holidays. The Walt Disney Family Museum will offer an exclusive look at a new exhibit in May for D23 Gold Members. Finally, D23’s Behind-the-Scenes Experiences will return in 2019, offering exclusive events to D23 Gold and Gold Family Members.

In 2019, D23 will be expanding the number of Member Mixers throughout U.S. cities. This will offer D23 Members an opportunity to mix and mingle with each other, including a special San Diego Comic-Con mixer in celebration of Marvel Comics’ 80th anniversary.

Of course the D23 Expo will return in 2019. This is the ultimate Disney fan event that takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. In 2019, the event will take place from August 23-25, and include performances, presentations, exclusive collectibles, and more celebrating all things Disney. Tickets are already available, which you can purchase here.
