The “mystery structure” on Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is no longer a mystery as signage went up on it today…
The Little Tokyo Travel Co., what is supposed to be a business you might find in current day Los Angeles, wills serve as a new Disney vacation Club sales location. Despite being themed to Los Angeles, it is closer to the Tatooine backdrop of Star Tours.
When this opens in a few days, the kiosk near the Sci-Fi Dine-In will close.
We were hoping this would instead be a path through the oddly designed planter placed at the exit of Star Tours, but now we’re just going to have to walk around this kiosk.
The new booth is located along Grand Avenue, which will mostly serve as a queue for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This will be the only entrance to the land for quite some time (the other will be used as an exit only at first), so it makes sense to put a sales location in such a high-traffic area.
I for one HATE these inside the parks. A lot of time and money spent into creating an immersive environment only for it to be killed by a time share offer.
In my experience, they really don’t hawk their timeshares. I bought into it nearly two decades ago and their sales team is very chill. It’s unlikely that they’d even invite you in unless you had your nose pressed against the window.
yeah its Disney’s version of timeshare, but I have always had amazing conversations with these Cast Members. Its true that they are trying to get you interested in the Disney vacation club but in all the years i have been going to the parks, and the handful of times i was approached by those cast members in those kiosks, i was definitely asked but never once felt pressured to do that open house tour thing. i couldn’t imagine Disney treating their guests that way. They have always been super friendly and very personable. I’m pretty sure they cant even sell anything but they are just in the parks to give out general information on dvc anyways. This kiosk looks beautiful though!
