The Disney Skyliner line from Hollywood Studios to Caribbean Beach Resort has been in testing mode for the last few weeks. Recently, we finally got to see them running at full speed, and then at full capacity. Today, they were testing the line at short intervals, but we got a chance to see how the gondolas do in high winds. Winds this afternoon were somewhere between 15-20 mph at times.

As you can see, the gondolas do swing a bit in the wind. Considering how windy it was, I was thinking the movement would be more severe. When you’re inside the gondola, it will probably be no more intense than being in a small boat on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Disney has yet to say what wind speed or weather conditions would necessitate the closure of the line.

They have some materials staged near the parking lot across the pathway. It looks as though it’s the siding or ornamentation for the top of the station.

Workers were in place on top readying the pillars to be finished.

They also have started installing lighting fixtures and fans on the inside of the station. Those will be nice on a hot day in the summer, even if the inside of the gondolas might not be.

After talking to some Cast Members, they reiterated that not all of the gondolas will have characters on them, just some.
