It’s been a while since our last walk around Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Lots of progress has been made on the various projects there. Let’s take a look!

Gran Destino Tower

From the parking lot you can get a good view of the front of the new Gran Destino Tower. It’s coming along quite nicely!

The entrance awning looks massive and will leave quite the impression on guests once it’s finished.

They are in the process of adding the decorative metalwork to the front of the building, much like that added to the back a few months ago.

The backside of the tower seems to be further along than the front.

There are some really nice tile work details on the far sides of the building.

The ground floor windows that face the lake are also quite impressive.

They’re starting to work on the archway framing for the covered walkway.

The path will lead to the main lobby/restaurant area.

Gran Destino Tower will house approximately 500 rooms and should open sometime this summer.

Villa del Lago and Resort Bridges

Villa del Lago is the new restaurant being built in the middle of the lake at Coronado Springs. Guests will be able to access it via one of three connected bridges.

The bridges should open to guest traffic relatively soon, and then the restaurant itself sometime after that.

Some signage has been installed, as well as decorative silhouettes.

This is going to be quite the view. Villa del Lago should open sometime this summer, prior to the opening of Gran Destino Tower.

They’re also taking the time to fix up some of the details around the rest of the resort. They’ve repainted all the directional signs since I was last here.
