REVIEW: Bugs ‘n’ Grubs Waffle Cone is Slimy, Yet Satisfying at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A jungle of eats and treats celebrating “The Lion King” are now available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we found the slimiest and most satisfying one of all.

Bugs ‘n Grub Waffle Cone – Available at Anandapur Ice Cream Truck and Trilo-Bites

The Bugs ‘n Grubs waffle cone is chocolate soft-serve ice cream in a green cone with cookies and cream “dirt” crumbles, gummy worms, and a chocolate beetle.

We opted to purchase it at the colorful Anandapur Ice Cream Truck, but it’s also available at Trilo-Bites. The cone costs $5.99 at both locations.

All in all, this is still the same chocolate soft serve you can get throughout the rest of the park, so you’re essentially paying an extra dollar for gummy worms, cookie crumbs, and a milk chocolate beetle.

The cone is also basically just a regular waffle cone with green dye, and I really wish they could do something more flavor-forward, or at least use natural colorants like matcha green tea, like they do in their Rivers of Light Dessert Party, but I digress…

While there’s nothing unique about the flavor or concept, it’s still very fun and refreshing option for a hot summer’s day, and undeniably takes a good photo for the ‘gram, especially with the Anandapur Bus as a backdrop. If you’re in the mood for soft serve, why not step it up a notch? We can never not recommend soft serve at the parks, and this creation is no less worthy of a recommendation.

This and the whole slate of Lion King treats will be available through the end of summer.
