It seems Disney picked up on the popularity of the live actors implemented inside of Pirates of the Caribbean during last year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and decided to bring them back just for the new, limited-time Disney Villains After Hours event this summer.
In fact, a number of attractions feature villainous overlays: In Tomorrowland, the Villains invade Space Mountain, taking daring voyagers on a villainous trip they won’t soon forget, with a new music underscore and the vilest Villains taunting you as you whiz by. But over in Adventureland, a live crew of scurvy scalawags invade Pirates of the Caribbean in search of treasure. We decided to sail the waters and see what was in store for us.
Turns out there’s a trapped guy in the jail in the queue, a lady who warns you about Jack and Barbossa in the queue, and finally, Barbossa yells at you from the bridge.
Here’s a full video of the live pirate experience at Pirates of the Caribbean, just for Disney Villains After Hours:
This offering is available only during event hours at Disney Villains After Hours at the Magic Kingdom, taking place select nights from June 6th to August 8th, 2019.
Looks like he did a better job than “gunpowder Pete” did during MNSSHP!
I noticed something I’d never seen before while at Florida this past week, and it was not during any special hours or anything, but in the queue of Pirates, a real life Jack Sparrow was wandering the closed off area that had all the rum barrels, and would seemingly run up to the chains and try to scare you if you weren’t being attentive.
Yes, we visited Pirates May 19th and the live actor scared me while waiting in line. Same place you mentioned above. I thought it was a great addition to the ride and hope he stays.
It’s only at this event…
