PHOTOS: Construction Continues on Beauty and the Beast Inspired Bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

It’s no secret that we’re excited for the new Beauty and the Beast themed lounge coming to the Grand Floridian this fall. We stopped by to check on the construction progress, and even though we can’t see too much yet, we could hear some activity taking place behind the walls.

Grand Floridian Lobby

Behind the construction walls, we can see curtains up around the work taking place.

The old location of the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra looks much different with the stage area removed.

The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra has moved downstairs to the lobby for the time being.

The construction walls still display the concept art. There’s a “Pardon Our Pixie Dust” sign, too.

On the other side, more walls and signs with the same artwork.

The main staircase is roped off on the side closest to the construction walls.

When we went outside, we could see more construction walls around the building. There’s also themed scrims around the balcony that help hide the construction taking place inside.

We can see more tarps draped on the balcony. It looks like this could be the area that will by inspired by the Beast’s garden terrace. We’re eager to spend some romantic evenings enjoying the beauty of this new lounge.

There will be four unique themed areas to the new lounge. In addition to the main bar area, guests will be able to enjoy the library, garden room, and outdoor terrace. The new lounge and bar will be opening this fall, but you can always pay a visit to the pop-up bar in the lobby in the meantime. Are you excited for the new Beauty and the Beast lounge at the Grand Floridian?

How do these characters fit in the Grand Floridian? We complain about shoe horning IP’s in replacing attractions. How is this different?
