Earlier last week, we learned of an all-new bus fleet with built-in charging ports currently testing amongst guests riding between the Transportation and Ticket Center and the Magic Kingdom. A few days later, Disney officially announced that it would be rolling out these buses equipped with the charging ports and Wi-Fi. Today, we spotted them in action for the first time around the Magic Kingdom area. Let’s take a look.

Daisy

We were pretty bummed to miss out on spotting Minnie Mouse as she wasn’t in operation with the rest of the fleet. We figure she might have been getting serviced during our visit, and she was replaced temporarily with a regular Disney Transportation bus. However, we did spot a great shot of the new fleet together at the station!

These upgrades, both inside and out, are a fantastic step in the right direction for bus service at Walt Disney World. The character wraps add a unique touch, and the amenities on the inside make resort hopping and navigating the resort much more convenient. The new bus fleet is currently transporting guests to and from The Magic Kingdom to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and we hope to see an expanded service area soon!

  1. Are you sure they’re going to have Minnie decorated busses? Did they skip it because of the Minnie vans…?

  2. Will these buses be used to take you from your resort to the parks? Having charging stations is a nice concept, but your time on the bus is so short, not sure how much charging you can really get.

    • These will be just like any other buses, either from resort>>park, resort>>Disney Springs, or resort>>water park. The plugs will be good in a pinch, but defininely shouldn’t be seen as a way to fully charge a phone. I’m envisioning more of a “gee, my battery is almost dead, but I need to text my mom” kind of use. Visitors should plan accordingly, by either utilizing the FuelRods available in the park, or having their own battery backups, just in case.
