A few months back, we told you about the changes coming to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC). Guests parking at the Ticket and Transportation Center will be picked up and dropped off at a new, temporary tram stop while this work takes place. Construction will be happening around the area to improve guest flow and the overall guest experience when entering the TTC. With the massive numbers of visitors daily to the parks, it’s no wonder changes need to be made. While riding on the monorail, we got a bird’s eye view of some of the progress already made at the TTC.
Lamp posts are balanced between stacks of cement blocks to keep them from getting damaged. There’s another large stack of cement bricks on the other side, too.
Unfortunately, the Walk Around the World bricks have been removed from the area for repaving. This refurbishment is going to be nice, but we’ll really miss the bricks.
There’s a small path between the two areas that leads guests from the parking lot to the TTC. The side closest to the monorails is basically just a lot of dirt and mud, thanks to the rain.
It looks like the foundation for the new, covered tram station structure has started to take shape. We can see rectangular wooden frames in the ground.
We spotted several crew members working.
From here, you can get an idea of the distance between the TTC and the new structure.
We’ll continue to update you on this and all the other construction projects happening around the parks, so make sure you stay tuned!
