We recently took a visit to Princess Fairytale Hall… where the machines have arrived.

Yes, the automated PhotoPass cameras have arrived at this Princess meet-and-greet. (Boy, that sky does look ominous for this story, doesn’t it?)

We saw them at the meet-and-greet areas for Cinderella and Elena of Avalor, though we expect they’ll be installed for the Rapunzel and Tiana meet-and-greet areas soon as well.

So let’s hang a right and take a look!

The kiosk is situated between the meet-and-greet areas. It’s not active yet as of the writing of this article, so PhotoPass photographers are still on site to capture your Princess moment.

Here’s what the cameras look like in their regal wood detail.

Presumably, this is where the MagicBand touch-point and park ticket/Memory Maker scanner will go, where you can link the photos to your account.

Thankfully, the princesses themselves remain their human selves.

This is just the latest location to get the automated PhotoPass cameras, which were recently installed at Royal Summerhus in Epcot and the Mickey and Minnie Mouse meet-and-greet at the Magic Kingdom’s Town Square Theater, and went into use at Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

  1. If you don’t like the auto cameras, when you visit, please take the time to tell Guest Services. It might help get real people there again, and stop the flow of terrible, flat photos with no life or magic. I have started to make it part of my routine when I visit.

  2. We hated the automated cameras with the Stars Wars meet and greet. We got a ton of pictures of our backs, Chewys back, and one good group photo out of it all. So disappointed that disney is going this route. Is photopass even worth it now? I’d rather take photos on my phone and get personalized pictures vs a stand still camera that can’t maneuver around yo get the best shot.

  3. This is awful! So cheap! What is the point of paying so much for photopass now?! Makes me sad to miss out on such special character photos and cast interaction :(
