Water Collected from Epcot’s Fountain of Nations Ahead of Demolition, to be Used in Future Epcot Water Features

With the demolition of the Fountain of Nations being imminent, water has been collected from the fountain to be used in Epcot’s future water features coming with the re-imagination of the park.

Epcot Vice President Melissa Valiquette and Walt Disney Imagineering Portfolio Executive Zach Riddley joined two current Epcot cast members for the collection. On the park’s opening day in 1982, delegations from nations all over the world brought water from their homelands to deposit in the fountain. For the collection, the Walt Disney Archives brought out the vessels from Switzerland and Mexico’s delegations to use once more.

There’s no word as to what water feature the collected water will be used in, but we will update you as we know more.

FYI: The water brought by the delegations from nations all over the world were deposited in the Fountain of Nations at the Grand Dedication Ceremony held on October 24, 1982, not opening day. :)

Thank goodness! This makes me a little less sad over the loss of the fountain.
