Another Wave of Menu Item Name Changes Sweeps Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Eateries at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The saga of the Galaxy’s Edge menu changes continues… at this point, you could even say it’s an epic space trilogy. Earlier this month on October 17th, it was reported the menu items at Docking Bay 7 in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge had been stripped of their previous Star Wars-themed names. Many speculated that this was to assist guests who did not understand the immersive menu item names.

Since the change, online menus have changed back and forth from the old names to the new, straightforward names. Local Batuuans told us that new menus were on the way to the space cargo commissary, and it appears that’s because yet another name change has occurred. It seems they’ve found a happy medium with the new names, melding both on-planet and off-planet monikers for menu items.

All along, the Breakfast menu had been our main clue as to what the finalized menus would look like. Mustafarian Lava Roll has been renamed to the Mustafarian Cinnamon Roll, while Tugg’s Morning Oats is renamed as Tugg’s Overnight Oats, and the Bright Suns Morning is now the Bright Suns Breakfast Platter. These names blend the original, Star Wars tie-in names with more straightforward food names.

Moving on to entrees, the Shaak Roast is now the Batuuan Beef Pot Roast. You have the Galaxy’s Edge tie-in, plus the name of what the food item actually is. It’s the best of both planets. Same goes for Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs and Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip, which is literally a mashup of both names. It’s interesting to note that Yobshrimp Noodle Salad was renamed to Surabat Shrimp & Noodle Salad, as they couldn’t quite keep it as “Yobshrimp Shrimp & Noodle Salad”.

The Felucian Garden Spread now includes Kefta and Hummus in the menu item title, and the newest vegan kids meal option that was previously just named “Meat” Marinara + Pasta was renamed the Peka Pasta Rings Youngling Meal.

We see similar name changes across all Kids Meal menus.

The only items that have remained unchanged are the desserts.

It’s also worth noting that there’s a new cocktail on the menu. Previously, you could only get the Takodana Quencher here. Now there’s also a Surly Sarlacc drink featuring Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, Minute Maid Limeade, Raspberry, and Spicy Mango Flavors. And it’s $2 cheaper than the Quencher. (See, not all change is bad…)

The changes aren’t exclusive to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, however, as the new Ronto Chips have been renamed into the Galma Snack Sampler, and the Ronto Chicken Wrap, which I admittedly felt was confusing (if it’s a Ronto then it can’t be chicken…) has been renamed the Endorian Chicken Wrap. We noted in our review that the receipt for this item listed it as an Endorian Tip-Yip Wrap… so there was another clue of the upcoming changes. Ronto Roasters also now features the new Surly Scarlacc drink in addition to the Coruscant Cooler.

Both eateries are currently closed at time of publishing, but we intend on traveling to Batuu shortly and investigating further.

What do you think of the latest menu item name changes? Do you think these new names will appeal to Star Wars fans keen on keeping with their immersion, while also being clear enough for the everyday traveler to Galaxy’s Edge? Let us know in the comments!

    • Only if the Youngling is a chicken and they only serve white meat because dark meat will turn you to the dark side.

  1. Good thing this isn’t confusing at all… “I’ll have the Batuuan Chick Yip Younging Meal.” “Sir this is now just a Wendy’s”

      • HA you changed Anonymous with Anonomouse. Thats a classic play on words, good for you, thats clever, really, good job

  2. Some people can’t understand the menu names in Galaxy’s Edge, so they changed it? I can’t understand why Darth Vader and Boba Fett aren’t there, can they change that too?

    • It’s really quite simple as to why Darth Vader and Boba Fett can’t be there… They’ve passed on! These villains are no more! They have ceased to be! They’ve expired and gone to meet their maker! They’re stiffs! Bereft of life, they rest in peace! They be pushing up the daisies! Their metabolic processes are now ‘istory! They’re off the twig! They’ve kicked the bucket, they’ve shuffled off their mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisible!!

    • Yes, Disney should never ruin theming to help out other people, but they should definitely ruin theming and continuity in order to appease you.
