Each year for Halloween, Disney releases a limited-edition Tiki mug at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at The Disneyland Hotel. This year marks the return of the Hatbox Ghost from the Haunted Mansion, and with the release comes a set of pins and ornaments to each coast. Two have just materialized at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort’s BouTiki, and we have photos for you! The ornaments are also available on shopDisney, so if you decided to sleep in and avoid the lines, you’re in luck.

While Hatbox Ghost sets are being released at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, there’s a fun distinction between the two of them. The Disneyland Resort design features the Hatbox Ghost’s head inside his handy hat box, while the Walt Disney World design features the empty hat box with his head placed safely on his shoulders.

Hatbox Ghost Tiki Ornament (Walt Disney World) – $24.99

The seafoam green ornament features a Tiki-themed Hatbox Ghost figural design with ”Memento Mori” inscribed on the back. There’s a satin ribbon for hanging, but you could also just stand him anywhere you want the ghostly apparition to manifest.

The Limited Edition pin is far less colorful, but no less ghastly. The silver pin etched with black markings shows a grim, grinning Hatbox Ghost. Do note that the pin is not available online.

  1. Ok, so the tiki is cool, but I wish WDW would stop trying to make the Hatbox Ghost a thing when that character exists nowhere in WDW.
