While Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland received five new menu items earlier this month, over here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’re still fumbling around with menu item names and basic buttered green popcorn. However, not all hope is lost, as we’ve at least procured a new alcoholic drink in the form of the Surly Sarlacc.
This new pink-hued drink is available at Docking Bay 7, where you could previously only get the Takodana Quencher, as well as at Ronto Roasters, for just $13.00. (I say “just” because most drinks in this land will run you at least $15 or more.)
The Surly Sarlacc features Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, Minute Maid Limeade, Raspberry, and Spicy Mango Flavors.
This is truly light and refreshing drink, and while there’s definitely alcohol in it, you can’t really taste it.
The Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka is fairly trendy right now, pairing strong alcohol with slightly fruity, slightly floral notes for a smoother drink, and in the Surly Sarlac, you get the grapefruit and rose notes loud and clear.
The limeade is more subtle, but acts as a good mixer for it. The raspberry flavor is there, but it isn’t overwhelming. It took a few sips to get the spicy mango taste, and once you do, there is a slight afterburn.
All in all, this is a cocktail with surprisingly good flavors going on (as opposed to just color-tinged alcohol juice) and the botanical elements add an oddly themed beauty and fragrance to it as well.
Trust us, we’ve never been known to wax poetic about any counter service cocktail, but this is a ten out of ten. We’ll definitely be ordering this again… and report back with our empirical findings on drink strength shortly.
