RUMOR: Christmas Lights on Sleeping Beauty Castle Cancelled Due to “Technical Difficulties” at Disneyland Paris

Much like every other Disney Park across the globe, it’s during the latter half of Fall that Christmas lights begin to be stealthily installed on each castle structure.

However, it appears that due to a number of conflicting reasons, Disneyland Paris will not be installing holiday lights on their Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, or Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The main reason given for cutbacks on lights was “technical difficulties”, but it is rumored that financial constraints may have also led to this potential decision. Not too long ago, a park-wide power outage led to the shutting down of all attractions at Disneyland Paris, but more infamous was the release of a Halloween sundae at Fantasia Gelati, an ice cream shop that is virtually never open due to staffing and scheduling cuts.

As you can see from the photos, the castle usually sports bright, twinkling lights on each of its spire roofs.

We’ll keep you updated on the status of the Christmas lights at Disneyland Paris as we near the holiday season. Would any Disney Parks holiday be the same without a castle decked out in Christmas lights?

  1. But Paris already hast he lights ready to go, how can they not install them? This is one rumour I don’t see happening, with dlp Park attendance on the rise I would expect more lights than in previous years if anything.
