Are you ready to go back in time? Way back in time? Older than dirt?
Well we have good news for you! Primeval Whirl at Disney’s Animal Kingdom reopened today after being switched to a seasonal operation schedule. You can find the carnival-like roller coaster attraction in Dinoland U.S.A. as part of the Hester and Chester’s Dino-Rama. It was announced in September that Primeval Whirl would become seasonal, after months of irregular operation due to unexpected maintenance issues.
Just like the ride itself, Primeval Whirl got off to a bumpy start. We walked over to the attraction at park open, but it was closed. When we talked to cast members, we were told that there was no estimated time for opening. Empty vehicles were being cycled through and we saw a maintenance engineer walking part of the track.
Around 10:30AM, Primeval Whirl was back in action and ready for us to ride! You can watch our twirl on the Primeval Whirl below.
After that ride, we can say that we slightly missed Primeval Whirl’s head-spinning maneuvers, stomach dropping dips, and whiplashing turns. Now it’s off to the chiropractor! Will you be riding Primeval Whirl? Let us know in the comments.
This is one of my favorite rides in AK- only because it makes our whole family laugh hysterically. If you distribute the weight of the riders unevenly, you spin and whip much more and the ride is a blast. Was so disappointed this wasn’t operating when we were there last month.
