The new Mickey Shorts Theater that was announced earlier last month is on its way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with an official opening month of March 2020!
As you can see from the new artist concept rendering above, the interior of the theater will evoke the same wacky fun of the Disney Channel cartoon series. You’ll see an original short in this same style, plus have the chance to take your picture in special photo locations.
The new Mickey Shorts Theater is currently under construction over by the park’s Theater District in the former location for the “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi” seasonal attraction.
Next year is going to be a big one for Mickey Mouse at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as in addition to this new theater experience, the park will unveil Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the first ride-through attraction in Disney history featuring those true originals!
Ok, so…another theater to show movies in? Look…I don’t understand why they couldn’t just keep all the foley/sound effect presentation from The Monster Sound Show and just add it to the Mickey Shorts. That would be fun and interactive and would put a little “Studios” back in Hollywood Studios. I seem to keep asking these questions when it comes to these cheap-o attraction re-skins (AKA, The Chapek Special)
