Hello from the “Most Magical Place on Earth”! We’re at Magic Kingdom today. Lucky for us, the holiday crowds have finally died down. We can actually walk down Main Street U.S.A. without bumping into people! Let’s see what’s going on around the park.
At Box Office Gifts, we found the new Figment MagicBand slap bracelet. We were a bit surprised to see this band out on shelves after they were pulled from EPCOT yesterday.
Up the street at Main Street Cinema, we found this adorable Britto Mickey ceramic cookie jar canister.
A giant smiling Mickey is on the front surrounded by the signature funky Britto print. The canister is available for $40.
In recent days, Disney has released a wave of new youth t-shirt designs. Today in the Emporium, we found this new Stitch shirt. The design has a cute Stitch in full color sitting at the bottom of the shirt, while a larger, sketched Stitch looms in the background. This shirt is $19.99.
At the beginning of December, a rainbow letter adult spirit jersey appeared, and today we found the youth equivalent. The text “Walt Disney World” stretches in silky rainbow letters across the sleeves and chest of the shirt’s front. Mickey stands below the word “Disney.” This new shirt is $44.99.
We found an unusual girls’ top. It is gray with cuffed short sleeves and features a Mickey silhouette in the middle.
The Mickey graphic is printed hot pink with a blue felt applied on top to create a faded effect. The top costs $24.99.
There’s a new youth tee for Toy Story fans. This light pink shirt features Bo Peep posing with her staff. The shirt’s text reads “I’m in CHARGE,” with the word “charge” in pink glitter bubble letters. It costs $19.99.
The Emporium’s checkout line is where the 2020 glasses from New Year’s Eve have come to die. Oh… and they’re not discounted.
There’s yet another addition to the Park Life collection. A new magnetic clipboard with a notepad appeared on shelves with the rest of the collection.
On the bottom corner of the notepad, Mickey and Minnie ride in a teacup. The rest of the notepad is filled with iconic imagery from the parks, such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Kilimanjaro Safaris and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
The magnetic clipboard is covered in the same imagery. It costs $14.99.
The MagicBands in the Emporium have been rearranged. MagicBands are now displayed by category.
The categories are Animated Features, Mickey and Friends and PIXAR.
We checked in on the TRON Lightcycle Run construction site to see if we could spot any changes. More wall sections have been installed on the show building.
In Star Traders, we finally found the Park Life autograph pen. We saw the autograph book last month, but the pen was noticeably missing.
The pen features Mickey waving a red pennant flag. Icons from Walt Disney World parks are also on the pen. It costs $7.99.
In Storybook Circus, Dumbo the Flying Elephant was plagued with some technical difficulties, resulting in half of the attraction being closed.
We spotted engineers working in the center of the broken carousel.
We hope only having one carousel didn’t cause much longer wait times.
In Big Top Souvenirs, we came across this cute new youth t-shirt. The tee is maroon and shows a befuddled Hei Hei sitting on top of Pua’s head. Directly below the duo appears the words “Best Buds.” It’s $19.99.
Mary Poppins has taken to the streets! She was meeting guests in a walkway, rather than in her normal gazebo location.
The refurbishment of the posts in the walkway from Frontierland to Adventureland are complete.
The posts now have a wood texture paint job and new leather straps that decoratively bind the railings and posts together.
Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire was stopped and cancelled mid-show due to an oncoming storm. Even though the show was stopped, the ending fireworks were still shot.
Sad news for fans of the Fried Pickle Hot Diggity Dog at Casey’s Corner: it has been discontinued. There’s currently no replacement for it, so we’ll keep an eye out for the next seasonal hot dog creation.
We got out of Magic Kingdom and on the monorail just before an onslaught of rain set in.
Thanks for joining us for our day at Magic Kingdom. Check WDWNT for the most up-to-date Disney Parks news!
