Tokyo Disney Resort may be temporarily closed, but we made sure to gather some special stories to share with you during this break! And that includes an update on the Cinderella Castle refurbishment, set to finish in just over a month! There’s a few new developments, so check it out!
Honestly, its been so long that I feel like we haven’t had a castle in years. Which is sad, because I really love Cinderella Castle. But we’re slowly seeing this project wind down, it seems. There’s a whole chunk of those Mary Blair-esque scrim sections that disappeared this week!
We brightened this one for you so you could see behind the scaffolds better. I’m loving those deeper blues, almost like those we’ll see on the Magic KIngdom’s castle later this year.
Just a note, shooting from different angles gets tricky with how the sun ruins shots! But the uppermost tower (along with two lower spires) are out for the world to see now. There’s still covers around those towers, but we’re inching closer and closer to our real castle once more!
If we take a closer look at the top spire, it’s much easier to see that very top balcony and the newly-repainted spires. I wonder what the views are like from up there?
It’s very gradual, but nonetheless exciting to see the castle once again soar in the open skies! The full project is set to complete on April 7th. That’s just 36 days away, and 8 before the grand opening of New Fantasyland! 2020 will certainly be an exciting year, and hopefully we’ll put the COVID-19 situation behind us in no time! Will you visit Tokyo Disneyland this year? Are you excited to see New Fantasyland and the newly-refurbished castle? Let us know below or on Twitter!

How are there people taking pictures in front of the castle if the park is closed?
Love it, can’t wait to see it when I go in August. Was quite a sad site over Christmas. Love TDR.
