Walt Disney World Resort President Josh D’Amaro Posts Sentimental Cast Member Tribute in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort President Josh D’Amaro has been like a ray of sunshine during park closures, consistently visiting the parks and updating his followers on how the parks are looking during this grim time of indefinite closures.

Yesterday, we shared the photo that Josh posted on his Instagram of the Fantasia-themed Sorcerer Mickey topiary in EPCOT and his extremely heartfelt caption.

Well, the prince of park closures is back and this time, he’s sharing photos of some essential Cast Members at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

In the picture of Josh and the Cast Members, it’s a bittersweet feeling to see a group standing in front of the “Partners” statue and Cinderella Castle, without any park-goers bustling quickly around them. On a happier note, though, it is heartwarming to know that our beloved Main Street U.S.A. is not alone during this time and is still being looked after until we can return.

In the second photo, you see Cast Members name tags with blue tape across them with short and inspiring messages, such as “Tomorrow”, “Ready”, “Be Alright”.

In the caption for these photos, Josh wrote,

“I made a quick visit to Magic Kingdom to thank a small group of Cast Members who are still taking care of the magic. I love seeing so many of our team wearing messages of courage and optimism on their name tags…until the day we welcome all of our Cast and Guests back to this special place.”

I sincerely hope Josh keeps posting these photos to his Instagram to show glimpses into our favorite place while we can’t be there!

  1. This is so bittersweet. I’m glad my second home is being taken care of while I’m gone, but I miss Walt Disney World so much. My husband, children and I talk about how much we miss the parks everyday. I’m so happy to receive these little updates.

  2. Josh I want to say thank you for the post. My husband and I have stayed at every resort except grand Floridian and the new riveria. We have visited Disney over 100 times and are looking forward to our next visit. We could not make his 65th birthday trip due to the virus. Booked for June but if we have to push it again we will. Thanks for our good visits.

  3. Rings a little hollow given the newest WDWNT headline: “Disney Furloughs to Save Company $500 Million a Month During Extended Parks Closure; Executive Bonuses Not Cut”

  4. Thanks for sending 70,000 people to the unemployment line and not paying your workers like Universal. We also love that you refuse to wear a mask or stand 6 feet apart. Stupid posts like this are really important when the majority of your workers are starving and dealing with a broken unemployment system that has only processed 5% of their claims.
