WATCH: Relive World of Color: Season of Light at Disney California Adventure and Be Inspired to Recreate Your Favorite Nighttime Spectacular

Last week, we informed you of a contest we’re hosting here at WDWNT! We’re asking you to try your best to recreate your favorite show in whatever way you want––that includes narration, homemade floats, characters, dancing, outfits, and more! We can’t wait to see what you come up with! We’ll also show the submissions on our nighttime show WDW News Tonight! For complete rules of the contest, visit our official contest post.

Today, to get you inspired to create, and because we miss the parks, we’re going to relive some of Walt Disney World’s and Disneyland’s nighttime spectaculars.

World of Color debuted at Disney California Adventure originally on June 11, 2010 and closed April 12, 2018. World of Color reopened on February 22, 2019, and at Halloween last year received a villainous makeover. World of Color is a hydrotechnic show that’s filled with Disney’s animated and live-action films. It houses 1200+ fountains and is a colorful array of water and fire.

Colorful. How could you recreate this?! I can’t wait to see. Keep reading WDWNT today as we relive some of our  favorite nighttime spectaculars and help you find inspiration to create your own!

  1. Slightly controversial opinion, but this is my favorite World of Color show. I don’t really know why. I just was in awe when I saw it in the 2018 Christmas season. I love the original World of Color, don’t get me wrong but I feel like they perfected the technology and used it to it’s fullest potential with Season of Light. I feel the use of the lights on the formerly California Screamin’ and Mickey’s Fun Wheel during the Goofy and Max section is particularly inspired and my jaw dropped when I saw it in person. TL:DR, World of Color: Season of Light is my favorite World of Color show presented at DCA.
