Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT to Reopen with Modified Character Dining Experience

A recent update to the Walt Disney World restaurant reopening page brings good news for Character Dining enthusiasts, as Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT will be reopening with a “modified” Character Dining experience for guests.

Garden Grill
Tasty breakfast offerings are served family-style at Garden Grill.

Garden Grill, located in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT, features a rotating dining room with Chip & Dale, as well as Mickey and more roaming about in their best farm apparel. If similar to our recent experience at the newly-reopened Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the characters may be seen marching through the restaurant, stopping briefly at a distance from guests for photos.

You can view the full list of restaurants reopening at EPCOT, along with a note regarding modified dining, below:

  1. This makes no sense. Characters are already in full protective gear with basically gloves AND masks just due to the costume. And at the price of the restaurant, they should not be paying for a half-assed experience. If they want to just take pictures of characters, they can do that just about anywhere. They go to Garden Grill for the interactivity.

    • The distance is to protect the next person, especially the children. I know my grandchildren always hug on them and occasionally give Pluto a kiss on his nose. There is no way to sanitize between tables. I would not want my grandchildren touching them right now. That is for protection as well as theirs. Children can carry this bug and never get it. Don’t come back and tell me this stuff isn’t real. My county has had many deaths from it.
