Earlier today, we saw a fleet of buses parked at each resort station at Disney Springs in preparation for the initial resort reopenings coming up on Monday, June 22. While many have questioned what the new protocols for Disney transportation will be, it seems guests arriving by bus at Disney Springs will have to undergo temperature screenings as they enter the shopping and dining complex.
A screening area has been set up in Town Center portion of Disney Springs, in between Coach and Luxury of Time by Diamonds International.
The screening area is currently not in use, but a security host has been stationed here, and tables and social distancing markers are set up throughout the space. For a walkthrough of what the new arrival process and temperature screening is like, click here.
As guests enter, they’ll pass by the COVID-19 Warning stating that by visiting Walt Disney World, they voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Any guests exiting will leave by the walkway outlined by barriers to the right.
Currently, the space is barricaded off ahead of upcoming reopenings and the start of Disney Resort transportation across property. While the theme parks remain closed, complimentary transportation from Disney Resort hotels to Disney Springs will resume.
Do note that this is a marked difference from how temperature screenings were done at Universal Orlando Resorts. There, all resort guests were screened at the lobby or at various bus stops each day and received a color-coded wristband that allowed them to enter CityWalk without having to go through temperature screenings a second time.
Are you looking forward to taking a Disney bus to Disney Springs in the coming weeks, and soon enough, to the parks? Let us know in the comments.
I mean, I don’t know if it would be too expensive to have stations at each resort but wouldn’t it make more sense to make sure people aren’t sick before the get on the transportation with other guests?
