With Downtown Disney District opening to the public on July 9th, there has been much to follow. Today, we made our way back to take see if things have settled at the Disneyland Resort. Join us in taking a look at the temperature screenings, virtual queues, parking lines, views from the Esplanade, and more.

Downtown Disney Parking

Downtown Disney Parking

Today, we got to Disneyland Resort around 5:00 pm. All parking was directed to the Simba Parking lot. Cars sat stalled for a moment as capacity was very high already. This has been a problem since opening a few days ago.

Downtown Disney Parking

Parking was complimentary.

Temperature Screenings

The Disneyland Hotel entrance from Downtown Disney is currently blocked off with “temporarily closed” signage.

We walked to the entrance near the Disneyland Hotel on the west end of Downtown Disney to get our temperatures checked. Markers have been placed on the ground near the tents to keep a safe distance between guests waiting in line.

It is asked that parties stay together as they are approaching the screening area.

We made it in with no problems! This was a very orderly and easy process.

The Esplanade

Disneyland Esplanade

It was nice to be back in the Esplanade today. Seeing guests walk between the gates of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure today reminded us of a quiet day of park operations.

Downtown Disney Esplande Poster

Two new posters can be seen hanging from the sides of the ticket booths in the Esplanade. Muppets Now is set to premiere on July 31, 2020, on Disney+.

Downtown Disney Hamiliton

The second poster is advertising the original Broadway production of Hamilton, the recent musical addition to Disney+.

Peeking over the entrance of Disney California Adventure, we were able to see Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout. Notice anything else?
