Bright Suns travelers, and welcome back to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! We are back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for previews prior to its grand reopening on Wednesday, and we were thrilled to be back in Batuu. Exploring the park and all its new health and safety measures is tiring work, so we headed to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo for a bite to eat, away from the hot Batuuan sun. Let’s take a look at the new protocols in place inside the restaurant, and get a bite to eat together!
Walking inside Docking Bay 7, it is harder to immediately notice any of the new social distancing measures in place, due to the dramatic amount of thematic elements already in place throughout the restaurant. In other restaurants across Walt Disney World, tables have been moved to increase space between parties.
However, new signage has been added to tables to advise guests not to sit at certain tables, to keep up with the new guidance.
Docking Bay 7 is currently operating a Mobile Order-only system. Guests are instructed outside the restaurant to complete their order through the My Disney Experience app, and then they are permitted to enter once their order shows up as complete.
We can see that there are new floor markers installed leading up to the counter, advising guests of where to stand as they wait for their food. The stickers snake around the themed elements to the restaurant, ensuring that the line travels in the most efficient direction for social distancing.
When our food arrived, we took a seat in this red corner of the restaurant, nice and socially-distanced from other guests!
We ordered the Batuuan Beef Pot Roast, which is served atop Cavatelli pasta, with wilted kale and mushrooms. You can view our full review for every item at Docking Bay 7 here. You may be wondering about the infamous Space Sporks that were set to go on sale here earlier this year before the shutdown. Unfortunately, the local Batuuans have informed us that sporks are not yet in stock.
Outside seating is also still available at Docking Bay 7, if guests would prefer to eat out in the hot Florida sun.
Thank you for joining us for lunch at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. We hope you’ll stay tuned to WDWNT for all the latest news and coverage of the reopening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and more!
