Since the opening of Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, many guests have been confused about the official face-covering policy. Many wondered things like, “can I wear a gaiter mask to a theme park?”
It appears the policy has officially be clarified, and Disney is now banning masks with valves or holes.
As it reads on the Know Before You Go webpage, all face coverings must:
- Be made with at least two layers of breathable material
- Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
- Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands free
At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters and open-chin triangle bandanas, and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings.
Continue to follow along with us at WDWNT as we update this ongoing story.
I just left Magic Kingdom. I a actually saw a 20ish guy walk in with a freaking sweatshirt wrapped around his face as a mask!!!!!! He made it past temperature check and police bag check. I was boarding a boat but ….that’s some crazy right there! Lol
Would you prefer that he didn’t have anything on? At least be made the attempt.
In the 1970’s Disney banned my dad for wearing a patch on his jeans, he had long hippie hair then too. What a disappointment, he has us 3 girls with him, and couldn’t go in…ugh…
Looking forward to our visit in September. Glad WDW enforcing appropriate mask wearing.
There is two layers of protection between the exhilaration valve and the inside of my mask. This includes a charcoal filter, which is more than the masks Disney is selling. Not sure what is going on, but it’s getting rediculess.
Wasn’t there a big deal about young children wearing face mask? Something about it makes it harder for them to breath and they shouldn’t be wearing them?
What is disney doing for ADA?
