PHOTOS: Frame Structure Removed from New Lucite Pylon Fountain at EPCOT

Just days after the EPCOT entrance fountain got a dose of retro goodness from new lucite pylons, it seems that the final phase of their installation is complete.

The black frame structure that helped hold the pylons in place as they settled into the fountain has been removed, giving the structure a more finished, futuristic look.

The obelisks, each etched with the classic EPCOT symbol, resemble the original structure which welcomed guests back when park opened in 1982.

The transparent columns reach beyond the construction walls, giving a nod to the park’s past as it prepares for its future.

While the pylons may be settled in, work continues on the rest of the entrance fountain, which according to Walt Disney Imagineering, will be revealed later in 2020.
