Disney to Host Press Conference Updating on Parks and Resort Operations During a Pandemic Tomorrow; Disneyland Reopening Announcement Expected

UPDATE: Disney has issued a statement that a reopening date for the Disneyland Resort theme parks will not be announced tomorrow.

With rumors circulating of California Governor Gavin Newsom meeting with Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro at Disneyland Resort over the weekend, it seems a reopening announcement may finally be made during a press conference planned for tomorrow, Sept. 22.

From Mouseplanet:

Disney has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday, September 22, to provide an update on parks and resort operations around the world during the pandemic. The panel includes Disney executives from both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort, and ends with remarks from Disney Parks chairman Josh D’Amaro.

Unfortunately, the press conference will be aired via an invitation-only webcast, with no Q&A session planned, but we will be bringing you live updates as things are announced.

Many are targeting an early- to mid-October reopening, however dates will not be finalized until officially announced. Disneyland Resort last extended hotel cancellations through October 3.

  1. It’s the end of Disney’s fiscal year at the end of September, of course they would hold a press conference. I sure lay-off will follow.
