UPDATE: Disney States They Will Not Announce an Opening Date For Disneyland Resort Theme Parks Tomorrow

With rumors circulating of California Governor Gavin Newsom meeting with Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro at Disneyland Resort over the weekend, many were hoping for a reopening date to be announced soon. Tomorrow, Disney Parks has scheduled a press conference to provide an update on parks and resort operations around the world during the pandemic. However, Disney has just issued a statement that a reopening date for the Disneyland Resort theme parks will not be announced tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s press conference is slated to include Disney executives from both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort, ending with remarks from Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro. The press conference will be aired via an invitation-only webcast, with no Q&A session planned.

Given Disney’s statement, it seems they are still preparing the parks as they await further guidance from the local government in California, and the presentation will help further their position as being ready to welcome back guests safely.

Many are targeting an early- to mid-October reopening, however dates will not be finalized until officially announced. Disneyland Resort last extended hotel cancellations through October 3.

  1. Disney should move the park to a State that hasn’t gone completely mad .California is an absolute joke maybe move it to Idaho that’s where everyone from California is fleeing to.

  2. I wish they’d at least open the DVC side of The Grand Californian early as a soft hotel opening. We would stay there without parks being open. We have a reservation starting 11 Oct. Fingers crossed.
