Transportation and Ticket Center Upgrades to Contactless Security Screening at Walt Disney World

The Transportation and Ticket Center at Walt Disney World has now introduced contactless security scanners for guests passing through to the Magic Kingdom. These scanners are the same Evolv scanners already in use at Disney Springs, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, officially making Magic Kingdom the latest and final addition (save for the water parks.) Scanners are also in place upon arrival for guests traveling from Magic Kingdom area hotels.

The scanners are created by Evolv, and are said to be “the fastest weapons-screening system on the market.” They are able to scan sixty people every minute and are ten times faster than other security systems.

These contactless scanners are ideal for security amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Going forward, they’ll facilitate the arrival process, making entering theme parks quicker and more efficient. Evolv scanners have also been installed at Disneyland Resort.

  1. Does anyone know if these are safe for people with pacemakers? Currently I push my mother around metal detectors and go through them myself. Security then gives her a quick once over, maybe a wand sweep and then off we go.
