It’s been a whirlwind day at EPCOT. Now that the entrance fountain has been formally unveiled, we can see it in all its full glory. And when the sun goes down, there’s even more to discover.

At night, the fountain is lit up in an assortment of colors that reflect a lot of the palette we’ve seen at The Epcot Experience. First, we saw a beautiful sunset grouping of fuchsia, orange and purple.

Next, the lucite pylons changed to blue, while the fountain base gave way to a blue and green arrangement.

Eventually, one of the pylons facing World Nature (or Future World West, for those still using the old terminology) turned green, foreshadowing the area’s own destiny.

Then, a touch of purple was added to the mix, complimenting the lighting on Spaceship Earth.

The lights are absolutely stunning, showing off the richness of each color.

Finally, the entire fountain was lit up in blue as the dusk gave way to night.

Finally, the pylons were lit in a pure white before cycling through the light package again.

The enhanced fountain helps to bring a dramatic presence as guests enter and leave EPCOT.

In addition, the the lights emitting from the base of the fountain allow it to be a vivid display, without any bleed-over as an overhead light would.

Surrounding the pylons are beams that extend into the sky, almost as if to signal that the future has arrived.

This is one light show you’ll want to see close up.

And as you can probably tell, it’s also a gorgeous photo spot.

All in all, this is a fabulous way to mark the end of the day (and the start of a new tomorrow) at EPCOT.

  1. This pisses me off and Makes me happy at the same time. Yes I approve of reverting back to the original 1982 Epcot center entrance & by doing that they have sucked diehard Epcot Center fans like me back in, but once I get inside I see the same old crap ( Journey into imagination destroyed , No horizons, what was so wrong with innoventions/communicore). At the park entrance you’re telling fans that the intent is to go back to Epcot’s roots, but at the heart / inside of Epcot tells a different story.

    • Yep, typical Disney putting lipstick on a pig. All for show but no real meaning or value behind it. I, too, mourn the loss of the classic EPCOT Center.
