If you’re planning on celebrating New Year’s Eve at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, here’s a first look at some of the special activities planned for the evening. As a reminder, theme parks will close before midnight and will not host any fireworks or nighttime spectaculars, so guests are encouraged to have fun celebrating at their resort.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower

At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll find the activities roster by The Wave.

• New Year’s Eve Mad-Libs (Bay Cove Pool) – 5:15 PM

For those looking to catch the special fireworks stream, there will be fireworks shown at 8:30 PM and midnight on in-room TVs, channel 74. It seems these will not run continuously, but at those specified times, likely with a countdown preceding it.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has a number of exclusive food & beverage, including a Strawberry Champagne Cupcake and Raspberry Rosé Dole Whip Float. Kona Cafe is also serving up a special filet mignon and baked pineapple Alaska.

Throughout Walt Disney World, most resort lounges and pool bars will remain open past midnight. At the Grand Floridian, the Beach Pool Bar, Courtyard Pool Bar, and Enchanted Rose will all be open through 1:00 AM.
