Though Magic Kingdom officially closed at 11:00 PM last night, guests hung around in front of Cinderella Castle until midnight. After the holiday projections were turned off and all of the lands were closed, guests waited in the Hub for their own magical New Year’s Eve moment. Though there weren’t fireworks, they still managed to celebrate the occasion by counting down to 2021 on their own.
Watch our YouTube video of the spontaneous countdown led by guests below:

That’s so very sad ðŸ˜
That’s nice, although I would miss time I had celebrating new year at Epcot. It was spectacular. I also had a blast riding empty rides at 11 😄
This was very moving, but then, just a few seconds before the video ends, it turns momentarily relatable when a rushed dad is heard saying to his family “Happy New Year. Let’s go!” LOL
There’s a first… Guests creating their own magical moments while Disney just sits idly by and offers NOTHING. Just another reason why I won’t go – why pay all that money for NO fireworks, NO celebration, NO countdown. Just senseless and sad.
Well MK is children oriented so they close earlier. It always been like that.
Parks like Epcot and universal studios open late. And they do have new year events planed.
