After a three month refurbishment, Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom reopened last week with a few small changes. Fort Langhorn, however, remained closed until now. Though it was apparently still closed for refurbishment, there are no obvious changes to the fort now that it has reopened.
There is scrim covering some of the fence leading towards Fort Langhorn.
The fort has several set pieces and sound effects.
Though they might seem real at first glance, these people are just part of the set dressing.
In the rifle roost, we can still take aim at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Fort Langhorn is visible from the Liberty Square Riverboat.
We took a trip through the caverns beneath the fort.
Nothing looked new down here either.
Though there was seemingly no refurbishment done to the fort, we’re glad that it’s back open and welcoming guests. Do you visit Tom Sawyer Island on your Magic Kingdom trips? Let us know in the comments.
