PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 3/11/21 (First 50th Anniversary Decorations Appear On Cinderella Castle, Peoplemover Testing Again, New Spring Vera Bradley Bags Arrive, and More)

Hello from a perfect park day here at the Magic Kingdom! We had the ideal temperature range today, with it not being too cold in the morning, and not getting too hot in the afternoon. It was a relatively quiet day, and the Spring Break crowds still don’t seem to have arrived just yet, so we enjoyed a last moment of calm before next week. We found some exciting things to show you, so let’s get started!

We saw a Cast Member pushing a Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover today, followed by full testing — including audio — of the attraction. This is the first time we’ve seen testing like this for a few weeks, so it was an exciting time! For more pictures and information, check out our article here.

The concrete work in front of Tomorrowland Speedway was reduced to just one spot near the entrance, thankfully far enough away as to not impede the entrance in any way. Guests in the queue were forced to move around the barriers around the fresh concrete, however.

At TRON Lightcycle / Run, even more pieces of canopy frame were put into place at the top, near the corner of the show building. Things are really coming together here, but there’s long way to go!

While Gaston’s Fountain was still filled but not running, we did notice that it seemed to be leaking today. The tankard in LeFou’s hand was pouring water despite the rest of the fountain being off.

Certainly the most exciting news of the day was the finding of the first decorative piece having been added to Cinderella Castle for the 50th Anniversary. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.

We found the queue for Peter Pan’s Flight had been rerouted inside of Columbia Harbour House to exit and then re-enter the building using side doors, maximizing the space for length of queue. We first reported on the restaurant being used as queue space back in December.

To give you an idea of the crowds today, this was Main Street, USA around midday. There were plenty of people there today, and it was certainly still crowded at choke points, but in more open areas it was fairly spread out and, dare we say, comfortable.

We found two new additions to the Mobile Order menu for Aloha Isle today, the first of which was the Coconut Cup. While this was technically an off-the-menu option for guests who asked for a cup of coconut soft serve while the Kakamora Float was on the menu, it is now an official option, and comes with the added bonus of being able to be swirled with DOLE Whip Pineapple.

The second new option has been available at the walk up order window for some time, but has finally come to Mobile Order. This Souvenir Tiki Sipper is not a new item, but we still love it!

The new Spring collection from Vera Bradley is now available at Uptown Jewelry, featuring two new fabrics in collaboration with Disney. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.

We had a wonderful day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
