After reporting last month that a permit was filed for its signage, we noticed today that construction on Roundup Rodeo BBQ has quietly continued at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
With construction walls erected around the site in January 2020 and land being cleared a month later, work on the new table-service restaurant at Toy Story Land had been moving along quickly before the pandemic.
Though construction is hard to keep track of beyond the walls, we were able to notice that some roof work has been done to the building.
The roof now has some metal edging running along its perimeter.
A peek over the construction walls gives us a glimpse at a doorway for the restaurant, currently covered in a perm-a-barrier membrane that protects it from the elements. They haven’t worked on the area out front in so long that grass grew in on the cleared land.
As seen in the above concept art, Roundup Rodeo BBQ will feature the western atmosphere of Woody’s Roundup, providing a family-friendly dining experience at Toy Story Land. The restaurant was supposed to open in 2020, but is now delayed until an unspecified date.
Keep checking WDWNT for the latest updates on the construction of this new dining experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Once complete, this would be a great addition to the Fantasmic dining package at DHS!
I cannot wait for this to open! HS is in desperate need of another table service option. Hopefully it will be a little easier to get an ADR in this park in the very near future.
