Construction continues on the frame for the illuminated canopy of TRON Lightcycle / Run. While the canopy itself is still months way from completion, the white puzzle-like frame is closer and closer to having its last piece installed.

The American Flag still sits at the highest point of the attraction. Construction workers added the flag as part of a “topping off” tradition signifying that height-wise, construction is complete on the highest point of the attraction.

As you can see, the left side of the canopy looks complete.

Orange tarps still line most of the coaster’s tracks to keep it protected during construction.

Temporary supports line some of the highest parts of the canopy frame, but will eventually be dismantled once work is completed on that section.

A large piece of the canopy frame waits to be hoisted up and into place. This is one of the final pieces left to complete the canopy frame “puzzle”.

If you look closely, construction workers are welding together pieces of the white canopy frame. Eventually, this frame will be covered and turned into an enclosed illuminated cover.

While we are disappointed that this attraction will not be open for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary as originally planned, we are glad to at least see progress being made.

In the meantime, enjoy this ride-through of TRON Lightcycle / Run’s sister attraction, TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland in the video down below:

  1. Not gonna be open for the 50th Anniversary date but…any predictions? Planning a visit in mid-November. Been watching the progress on Tron and Guardians like a crazy person!!

  2. Anybody know if they are going to cover the canopy before stopping construction? It would look better that way.
