The entrances to Walt Disney World are in the middle of a blue and gold makeover in anticipation of the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort this fall. The entrance to Walt Disney World on World Drive is in the final phases of a refresh as work begins on the Minnie Mouse marquee.
The background of the archway is now entirely blue and work continues on the lettering. We reported earlier this week that the letters were outlined in white to prepare for the new white paint that will be added soon.
The left columns are almost entirely painted grey to match the new look. The gold decor on top of the left column still needs to be painted.
The Mickey Mouse marquee was completed recently and now work begins on Minnie Mouse.
Minnie herself is covered plastic tarps while the background behind her is being primed for blue paint.
Soon enough, the left side will match the look on the right.
Once the Minnie Mouse marquee is complete, all that’s left is to add a small golden sign underneath the arch and golden flags on top.
The far sides of the sign, featuring Donald Duck and Goofy are already complete.
