In the past few months, we’ve seen some physical distancing guidelines relax at theme parks. Now at Walt Disney World, Cast Members are boarding up to three parties in one vehicle on boat rides.

Here are three parties in one boat at Pirates of the Caribbean. There is one empty row separating each party and no dividers. Pirates of the Caribbean was previously only boarding one or two parties per boat, filling up to two to four rows, depending on the number of people in each group.

We also rode Gran Fiesta Tour at EPCOT with two other parties in three rows yesterday. However, it seems the number of parties may depend on capacity. When we rode a much less busy Gran Fiesta Tour this morning, there were only 2 parties per boat.

How do you feel about the relaxation of these health and safety protocols? Let us know in the comments.

  1. You have to buy a ticket at age 3 but wear a mask at age 2. Ridiculous. Raise the mask age! A 2 year old cannot be reasoned with.

  2. A step in the right direction, for sure, but if masks apparently work so well, why still the need for an empty row of spacing? Open it 100% already! The Guest experience continues to suffer.
