Despite the inclement weather in the Orlando area this weekend, construction is carrying on at EPCOT, where MouseGear is becoming “Creations Shop”, Club Cool is returning, and more projects are coming to fruition in the center of the park. We took some of these photos a few days ago, prior to a thunderstorm rolling through the area.
There’s plenty of construction equipment and materials staged in the old location of Electric Umbrella.
Scaffolding and low roofing is visible inside.
This will become home to Starbucks and a new quick-service restaurant.
Further down, construction inside Creations Shop, EPCOT’s future flagship retail location, is difficult to see beyond the windows and plywood doors.
Metal poles descend from the roof overhang across the building’s façade.
There have been a lot of construction crew members actively working on the project.
All hands are on deck as work is focused on one exterior wall of Creations Shop.
The upcoming store will have a bold, sleek design that creates a perfect showcase for the rich variety of items guests will find as part of the EPCOT experience.
Scaffolding fills the new Club Cool location, adjacent to Creations Shop.
This area has yet to be enclosed with walls and windows.
Both Club Cool and Creations Shop are scheduled to open this summer.
At the south end of Creations Shop, a new popcorn stand is also under construction. What seems to be a pathway from the main building has now been lined with curbing.
Here we see the shape of the kiosk carved out in the ground and some additional base framework installed, including a new curb lining the site as well.
